Authentic Philly Cheesesteak
From Ryan Ward: Based on the traditions passed down from my grandparents.
Introduction:
My grandparents were born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. This famous city is known for having the best cheesesteaks in the world. Except no substitute! A Philly Cheesesteak is destined send you home with a greasy satisfied smile of tastyness!
Serves:
One (1) hungry adult
Ingredients
- Thinly sliced chip steak (original grass cows only!)
- Cheese Wiz
- 1 Medium Viaolia Onion
- 1 Amoroso Roll
- 2 Tbsps of Butter
- Sea Salt
- Pepper
Directions:
- Saute diced viaolia onion in about 1 tablespoon vegetable oil on a griddle, cast iron skillet or non-stick frying pan. Cook for about 5-8 minutes (depending on cooking method) and remove from heat. Set aside.
- Saute thinly sliced chip steak in the same pan. Season with sea salt and pepper as desired.
- Mix back in the onions, place cheese wiz on top of meat and onions until oozed in nicely
- Using a spatula, carefully place the meat, onion, and melted cheese into the roll
Cooking Notes
Ketchup is an acceptable condiment, as is mustard or hot sauce. If you use mayo, then this negates this whole document and your food item no longer bares the "Philly" identification. NO MAYO!
