Strawberry Fruit Salad
A very Southern dish and also the most amazing thing you will ever taste.
I've grown up eating Strawberry Fruit Salad and it is one dish that I always request on my birthday. It's a very Southern dish (how often do you hear of a recipe that calls for Jello?) that I consider good enough for breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, and dinner! You can't go wrong with Strawberry Fruit Salad.
Serves 12
- 1 large box of Strawberry Jello (6 oz.)
- 3 mashed ripe bananas
- 1 can crushed pineapple (drained)
- 2 10 oz. containers of sweetened frozen strawberries (thawed)
- 16 oz. sour cream
Directions:
Bring 1 cup of water to boil.
Pour boiling water into bowl with jello mixture and stir until jello mixture dissolves.
After jello is dissolved, add thawed strawberries and juice, 3 mashed bananas, and pineapple to dissolved jello mixture. Stir it all together.
Pour half of the mixture in a 3 qt. rectangular (8 x 12) Pyrex dish.
Refrigerate for an hour and a half.
Gently spread sour cream over refrigerated mixture.
Pour remaining mixture on top of sour cream layer.
Refrigerate for another hour and a half and then serve.
